Jensen p12q review4/13/2023 I think you would have to spend quite a lot more money before you found a speaker that so clearly outperformed this one. My P12Q has nice upper mids but I would say it’s a more scooped, BF Fender vintage kind of thing. He described his speaker as having a strong mid presence. The biggest difference, FWICT, is the mids. Based on what the OP wrote about his RI, the top end is very similar. It was well packaged, easy to install, and the dimensions on the Thomann site were accurate, I was able to use the diagram to CNC-cut a perfect-fit custom baffle before the speaker had even arrived. My P12Q is an original smooth cone, not a reissue. Plays nicely with overdrives and light distortion but I don't think I'd be using it for metal. probably a Fender type) driving it, it is excellent indeed. It chimes in a way Celestions do not, like the original Jensens of which it is a reissue.įor bright, bluesy rock this is exactly spot-on, has that vintage sound that suits anything with a bit of twang. It has that very classic American speaker sound to it, warm but bright, and breaks up really well. I built a 112 cabinet for use at home with heads and as an extension with smaller speaker amplifiers, and I needed a speaker to go in it.
